He’d done all. Everything. There was nothing left to do but watch and wait. He had set things to start rolling and now the boring part begins. He was sure that he’d thought every detail. It would come together mostly as he’d expected and that was all he could hope for when making a solar system .

So with high expectations he rested in the warmth of a newly formed sun as the third planet was a giant sea of ammonia.

He awoke from his rest which could have been a single rotation around the star or one hundred billion rotations around it, he didn’t know nor did he particularly care, he was not held by time. Since his slumber was sound so to fully prepare himself for his tasks he took to admiring his star’s beauty for similarly what could have been a single rotation or a trillion.

Once fully done with his viewing he turned to his still forming world and came down for a closer look at how things were shaping up and what he saw almost made him want to start over.

It was not what he’d had in mind at all for this. His main inhabitants didn’t represent him at all and never would. They were mainly stupid giant lizards. They would have to be gotten rid of so that the one which would eventually represent him could grow without being eaten.

He moved away from his current project and looked for what would work best to remove the current pests which had infected his planet. Only to find that he was missing a planet!

The fifth planet was missing entirely, it was right after the red one and it was gone! He fumed getting closer to where it should be dismayed when he saw that it was now in billions of pieces. Enraged he looked also for the sixth planet (the obvious collision point) to see if anything could be salvaged. What he saw enraged him even further and grabbed the remains of the sixth planet with an extension of himself and threw it hard and far.

As it tore past the last and smallest planet (an ice planet which one day would have ice giants) he got a grip what had gone wrong with his system; he’d stopped keeping an eye on it and hadn’t put enough intention of exactly what he wanted in its manufacture.

As far as he remembered the rules where you couldn’t change quickly once it started. it had to be as natural as possible which left a big window for interpretation. He knew what to do and still win, he had to cool the planet to kill the giant lizards, tell the others that the astroid belt was unique, get the fourth planets green men and ice giants going.

He searched for the best asteroids to throw at the stupid lizards to pick them off one at a time which was natural enough but boring.

After finding a few well sized ones he made his way past the fourth planet and saw that it would soon start having green people on it’s red surface (a joke seeing as they where opposite colors), he saw the perfect asteroid. It was unbelievable large.

For a moment he thought of leaving the other smaller ones behind but brought them along just in case the big kahuna wasn’t enough to get rid of the slimy lizards.

As he got closer to the planet with his many projectiles and saw the damned lizards he sent the many small asteroids to the single continent, an easy target, then sent the mother of all asteroids. (which it probably was since the asteroids were a planet once and this was the biggest piece of the planet so in a way it was the planet so had to be the smaller ones parent).

While there certainly was plenty of smoke and ash, he couldn’t totally tell if it would kill the stupid lizards plus he’d already brought the big one so might as well use it. The big kahuna went hurling through the clouds of smoke and was lost in the cloud cover for a second.

“Maybe using the big kahuna wasn’t such an good idea”, he thought as the mushroom cloud made it well past the atmosphere. And for a literal half a second he was content to just watch it before realizing that he had just destroyed the atmosphere cover. In a moment of desperation he pulled the remaining cover and put a new one in its place. It took about a ten thousandth of a second but that was still enough to start the whole planet spinning off its axis and freezing. In yet another moment of desperation to stop the cooling he created with his will volcanic eruptions to bring warmth to the otherwise frozen tundra.

So he watched with eager anticipation for his creations to survive

:::::::

In what could have been the same moment or many passes around the star (and it was many, many pass) he was surprised by another club member arriving nearby as he watched as his creations which where growing bigger and hairy to acclimate to the cold world.

“How is your projects coming along?” Other asked not so much physically but thought.

Other was like He, both were creators. They made planets, solar systems, stars, and sometimes when things went wrong black holes. Other was also his competition to see who could make the best and most interesting system. Other had won the last couple of times so He was banking on his four, now three, inhabited planets to come through big for him. They didn’t call each other names because they didn’t have any and neither was actually him or her they just were creators and friends. competitive friends. Very competitive friends.

“Oh fine,” said He it wasn’t but lying wasn’t going to make him lose.

“I thought you were making lizard people?” Other asked.

“Yeah well when I put together the asteroid belt I had a few come lose and landed here. Sent the whole thing into a ice age.” He said indicating to the planet He had been watching.

“Well my collection of inhabited planetoids are going quite well there is space flight already” Other said.

“Really?” Said Him.

“Yes and I should get back to attending it” said Other suddenly leaving.

He watched as Other left while keeping his attention on his planet. When Other was most definitely gone and had been for awhile (several star cycles) Him realized something there should have been no way for Other to know about the lizards.

“How did Other know?” He mused. Other must have cheated He concluded there was no other way that it could’ve happened. He had prepared it perfectly so that it wouldn’t happen. And how did Other find this place when they weren’t supposed to know.

::::::::::::::

He traveled faster than ever looking for Other’s system. He knew he’d find it soon but being planetoids it would be easy to miss. In passed many empty systems and a few past failures looking for Other when He saw an old projected that he’d lost.

It was a double star but the gravity well was so, that it pulled in all the planets to the burning stars after a few billion cycles. He was so confused how that happened the he opted out of that round.

“The double sunset would have been beautiful to see from the tenth planet” He sighed.

He moved closer to where the planet should have been, when he did he saw something different. Planetoids which he had missed from his chosen prospective. There were lots of planetoids, in a variety of wonderful colors and shades going far and wide it truly was a sight to behold.

He was so awe struck that this happened without help that he almost just gave up his current project. There was so much material in the belts rainbow that he could make such nice and beautiful planets that would go perfectly with the current theme. He was so excited that he moved closer to just make a quick planet before going back to his current project. Then He perceived something stranger than the rainbow belt; life.

Life couldn’t happen without the help of a creator. He viewed to a larger planetoid and saw lizard people! A stereotypical type of person for Other to make. Other knew that it was against the rules to steal an old project why would Other do that? He was so angry that he took a large section of the rainbow belt and threw it in to the suns. He was surprised that instead of going to the two suns it went between them and disappeared.

There was a black sun! The cause of He’s plight all those millennia ago. Other must have done it so He would lose! And he’d done it again by putting giant lizards on his planet! He was sure.

If Other was going to cheat then He would do something he’d never done before.

::::::::::::

He moved as fast as he dared through the cosmos holding carefully to his big surprise. It wouldn’t make him win but it would be a feat none the less. He would position it to line up perfectly with his star so if the timing was just right it would block out the star.

When He arrived it had been awhile but things had progressed splendidly. The mammals had begun to develop into slightly intelligent beings, the green men had started a colony on the warmer parts of the continent, the planet was warming up, all in all things were looking up for him.

He moved his new planetoid into position which was quite pocked and dusty from its travel through the cosmos but the other side was carefully carved out by it previous inhabitants. That would look bad from the planet’s surface so the pocked side would have to do. The planet shook and the tides changed but that would be fine. He lined it up perfectly to match the sun and intended it to forevermore be in a locked synced orbit.

Right as He was satisfied that the moon was good or good’nuff a very large asteroid passed by the outer atmosphere making a large tear in the atmosphere. He went farther from the surface of the planet and watched as the planet spun.

“Not again!” Thought He.

He wasn’t going to make /yet another/ atmosphere so he stretched the gap closed. This would have been difficult for anyone but a creator considering that the planet was spinning uncontrollably at many times it already high speeds but for Him it was simple.

He then followed the asteroid and saw that it passed so close to the fourth planet that it had burned up most of the atmosphere. Before it got much further He grabbed it with his very being and made it disappear.

:::::

He had assessed the damage and it wasn’t good. The fourth planet was almost all gone and their colony was flash frozen on the third planet and in the whole excitement He had forgotten about the frost giants. If he had a head to shake he would have.

Despite this the fourth planet had made some pretty impressive progress with an artificial mountain which went past the atmosphere. There also the giant face they had made apparently in his name, whatever that was. Either way He was flatter by the gesture. So he watched further away to keep attention on his quickly fading plans for the best solar system.

So with all the watching He wasn’t surprised when another Other came.

“Wow?! What happened to your system?” Said Other-Other.

“Another creator has been cheating and did this to my system” said He.

“Oh, I understand. That’s actually why I am here. We decided to exclude the creator that makes the lizards. He’s been found cheating” said Other-Other.

“Well good!” Said He.

“Yeah... anyways that creator’s gone of and started calling himself a name. Word has it he can’t create anymore. But we need some one to take care of his system. But none of the others want to deal with slimy lizard people so we thought to ask you” said Other-Other.

“Yes!” Said He.

“Okay” said Other-Other almost contemptuously and left in the same instance. No one really wants lizard people.

He thought about all the planets he could make with the rainbow belts and lizards could be handled.

And like that He the creator was gone to make a better system.
